The Challenge
Effectively manage growing volumes of patient data
AHS physicians, nurses, radiologists, and other staff members depend on the continuous availability of clinical data in the organization’s Agfa HealthCare systems and other vital systems. Behind the scenes, AHS Information Services (AHS-IS), which supports 31 of the AHS campuses and employs 600 individuals, must have the capabilities to store and manage the organization’s growing fixed-content assets and to preserve them over their lifetime. However, like other healthcare organizations today, AHS is contending with rapidly growing data in the form of electronic health records (EHRs) that include data-intensive radiology images, diagnostic reports, and other critical patient care information.
